Wow what a storm on the Gulf Coast! – Open Thread

on June 24, 2012

My Daughter-in-Law in Tampa/St. Pete, FL found this picture from a FaceBook group called:

I Love Downtown St. Petersburg.  Apparently this is how bad Tropical Storm Debby was in her area.

Anyway guys, here’s another open thread.  Chat to your heart’s content.

BTW, Gilligan, what  did that storm do in your area?

Debby isn’t quite here yet, although we’re getting high winds, high waves, pounding surf (and there are idiots that are still going in the water and getting caught by rip tides), but not a lot of rain so far. That Jim Cantore was in Pensacola Beach makes me too damn nervous because he’s always at ground zero. There were a number of fishing tournaments cancelled because they didn’t want small boats going out in 12 foot seas. The wind was from the north today which pushed the water away from shore so there wasn’t much flooding so far.

Right now, the Florida mainland, not the panhandle, is getting the living shit kicked out of it, and Debby has stalled in the Gulf, so it doesn’t look like she’s going to be moving for a day or two. You can bet that parts of Florida will get over a foot of rain. I’m sure our turn will be coming all too soon.

  2. gilligan25 says:

Most of the Arizona anti-immigrant law has been overturned. The decision is here:

BTW, Jim Cantore is in Panama City, waaaay east in the Panhandle. I’m relieved.

    • kstreet607 says:

Yep! I just saw that on MSNBC. Jan Brewer is STILL touting it as a WIN for the “rule of law”. What a tool.

I don’t watch The Weather Channel often, but I seen Jim Cantore right in the thick of things when it comes to hurricanes and heavy rain storms.

  3. gilligan25 says:

    kstreet,

We know that whereever Jim Cantore is, that’s where the storm is going to make landfall. Except for having a friend who keeps his sailboat in Panama City, having Cantore that far east is just fine with us.

Brewer is just doing spin–Arizona lost and lost big. The Supremes didn’t act on the one provision left (“let me see your papers”), but are waiting to see what they’ll do when that part of the law is enforced. If it’s being enforced by Sheriff Joe, you know damn well that his hallmark is racial profiling. This decision also hits states that having similar laws or contemplating similar laws.

The next big decision: healthcare. Probably on Thursday.

    • kstreet607 says:

The next big decision: healthcare. Probably on Thursday.

Yep, it’s been announced by the SCOTUS: ACA decision Thursday.

BTW, who was missing at the Supreme Court? The decision was 5-3 (only eight justices.) I tried to watch the news, but the shows I watched didn’t mention him or her.

  4. Borat says:

    I know this is OT,

But why is Florence so fuckin FAT? and whats with the testicles hanging on his/her chin?

  5. Borat says:

Florence is even fatter than these bums

  6. gilligan25 says:

    Borat,

LOLOLOLOL!!!! But I’ll need some brain bleach thinking of Larrd wearing a thong and shaking like a bowl of warm jello.

He could put his eye out.

    • Dennis says:

“…wearing a thong and shaking like a bowl of jello.”
Hey Gilligan, some of us would like to get to sleep tonight without the nightmares – OK! Besides he lost a few pounds last week while running from the USSS.

      • gilligan25 says:

He wasn’t running from the USSS. You can bet they were sitting outside his house (or were very nearby). Larrd doesn’t want his corpulent ass tossed in jail or back in the looney bin, so you bet he stayed inside all day, mouth breathing, watching Fox and scared shitless.

  7. Borat says:

    Gilli…hehe

  8. Dennis says:

Speaking of Fat Ass, he is now weighing in on the Egyptian election. Yep, its all Obama’s fault because Obama wants the Muslim Brotherhood in charge so the US can send them advance weapons. Clear conspiracy. Proof: Obama called both candidates afterwards and chatted with them. Yep, clear cut conspiracy.

    • gilligan25 says:

Was Pam Geller/Atlas Shrugged on Fox since the election? That’s her brand of paranoid screed.

And yes, being presidential is definitely a conspiracy, uh huh.

  9. Borat says:

Florence Failed grade 3 ,he hopes one day to get grade 3 completed.

I personally think he will get his grade 3 in jail very soon

  10. Dennis says:

Alert from Gov. Scott’s office in Florida: Strange man-like blimp seen blowing over Orlando, screaming weird gibberish about Obama. Neighbors claim that just before TS Debby blew through, they had the impression that some one known only as El Gordo acted confused thinking that the TS had something to do with lifestyle choices. Scattered reports of bystanders injured by falling flip flops.

    • kstreet607 says:

ROFL Dennis! That’s too funny! OMG that’s funny. I wonder if Debby caught up with the flip-flop wearing tub of lard?

      • Dennis says:

I doubt if Fat Boy would know. I hear he just spent the past four days hiding behind the fridge in the wide load just in case the USSS peaked through the windows.

  11. Dennis says:

These must truly be the final days for the gates of Hell has open and the crazed now roam the Earth:

Be forewarned, its a dozy. The Taitz is off her meds and in full swing.

  12. Dennis says:

    Today in Lardo’s World:
    1. Parsons accuses Obama of trashing the rule of law in Arizona because of the Supreme Court ruling. She seems to have the bizarre idea that the President has the Court by the short and curly. Odd, I thought the court was dominated by a pack of right wing nutters.

    2. Fat Boy is sounding the alarm about right wing bloggers being persecuted by Obama supporters. Some nutcase who I have never heard of has lost his account at GoDaddy.com because of complaints filed against him concerning his site. I’m not sure what it takes to get bounced from GoDaddy.com, but it sounds like a violation of TOS case to me. But nope, it is more proof of the vast conspiracy.

In Barack Obama’s America, Yet Another Blogger Gets SWATTED
    June 27, 2012
    By Lawrence Sinclair

We asked Pat Dollard of PatDollard.com if we could publish excerpts from an article which published June 25, 2012 concerning the ‘Swatting” of yet another Blogger. We wanted to bring our readers attention to the methods which while not new to those who have opposed Obama since the 2008 campaign, many simply ignored the actions because 1) they simply could not believe that such things took place in America; and 2) because up until recently they had been directed at individuals who the media had tried to paint as being lunatics.

What those who have become targets don’t know is that this practice was first initiated by Obama supporters and far left web sites like DailyKos, Democratic Underground and FireDogLake under the cover of email re-mailers like that which BarackObama.com used in 2008 and is using in 2012 and through Proxy servers which hide their true IP addresses and locations.

It was less than two weeks ago that I had tweeted Mr. Worthing the below tweet about the ‘swatting’ and other caller ID spoofing incidents having been taking place for more than four years, and how no one thought it was worth reporting until it happened to them or someone they knew.

Mr. Worthing unlike most was man enough to admit the criticism was fair. Yet what has happened to Aaron Worthing and is happening the Ali of The National Bloggers Club is only the beginnings of what these people will throw their way.

In Barack Obama’s America, Yet Another Blogger Gets SWATTED

    written by Snarky Basterd

This is a story of tyranny. This is what it’s come to in Barack Obama’s America. You don’t need the government to quash your right to speak freely. Obama has surrogates. You can even go to court and win your freedom to speak freely … only to find armed police at your door, ready to take you down on the word of some anonymous caller to 911: ”I shot my wife,” the voice says.

This is not America. This is some totalitarian country from the past, some third-world hellhole, that you’ve read about.

Except, it keeps happening here, in America, again and again and

    again.

The following post is about a blogger who, among many, has been “SWATted.” In other words, some anonymous caller has phoned 911, usually via Skype (so their call can’t be traced), claiming to be a husband who has just shot his wife, giving authorities names, an address, and reason to come storming your home, looking to take you out. It’s a dangerous situation; and it happens to be false.

This story happened tonight; this story is just one of many that have terrorized conservative bloggers for months now. This story follows the incident as it happened, what people had to say about it, and what the person, @aaronworthing on Twitter (a lawyer named Aaron Walker, who’s life has been turned upside down by a convicted terrorist by the name of Brett Kimberlin), has to tell you about what happened to him.

    The story enfolds as follows:

In yet another SWATing event, @aaronworthing (Walker) reported on Twitter tonight that he was swatted:

Read the whole article HERE http://patdollard.com/2012/06/another-blogger-aaron-worthing-gets-swatted/

It is important for everyone to remember that these types of acts are meant to intimidate you into compliance and acceptance, and if you truly value the Freedoms which so many have given their lives to protect you will stop being intimidated; you will stand and say: “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take this shit anymore.” Until everyone decides to stand together and not pick and choose who can or cannot be subjected to these types of attacks, we cannot even begin to put a stop to it. As long as people are scared into crawling into a corner in their home and not fighting back, the Obama inspired will continue to get away with these actions which are in deed criminal by statute.

I support Aaron Worthing, Erick Erickson, Stacy McCain and anyone else who is dedicated to exposing those who engage in these types of intimidation and harassment tactics.

Déjà vu: Censoring Online Sites Critical Of Obama
    June 26, 2012
    By Lawrence Sinclair

It was brought to our attention this morning that GoDaddy.Com has notified Douglas Hagmann, an Erie, PA Private Investigator that he must find another hosting company for his website-HomelandSecurityus.com – or it would be deleted by GoDaddy.

    Paul Joseph Watson
    Prison Planet.com
    Tuesday, June 26, 2012

    Douglas Hagmann

A political website that contained stinging criticism of the Obama administration and its handling of the Fast and Furious scandal was ordered to be shut down by the Obama campaign’s ‘Truth Team’, according to private investigator Douglas Hagmann, who was told by ISP GoDaddy his site contained information that was “maliciously harmful to individuals in the government.”

Hagmann, CEO of Hagmann Investigative Services, Inc., a private investigative agency serving a roster of Fortune 500 clients, was given 48 hours by GoDaddy to find a new home for his website before it was deleted.

Hagmann was told the reason for the shut down was because the website featured “morally objectionable” material. After GoDaddy refused to identify the complainant, only saying that it was not “any official government agency,” further investigation by Hagmann revealed that the order came from a group tied to Obama campaign headquarters.

Speaking with the chief investigator in the GoDaddy Abuse division, Hagmann discovered, “Ultimately it was found that the complaint originated ostensibly with a group associated with the campaign to re-elect Barack Hussein Obama.”

Turning to his contacts within government, Hagmann then contacted spoke with another source who confirmed that the ‘Obama Truth Team’ was responsible for the shut down order.

“I’m laying this right on the doorstep of the Obama Truth Team,” said Hagmann.

Read more here: ‘Obama Truth Team’ Orders GoDaddy To Shut Down Website http://www.prisonplanet.com/obama-truth-team-orders-godaddy-to-shut-down-website.html

Sinclair News has spoken with Mr. Hagmann this afternoon and he will be a guest on Through the Mirror w/Larry Sinclair tonight at 7:00 PM ET to discuss the events which have led to GoDaddy shutting him down.

Email to Mr. Hagmann from GoDaddy.com

Sinclair News has offered Mr. Hagmann the opportunity to compare his web sites visitor data logs to SN’s massive data files which we have maintained since the 2008 election out of our belief that those who are responsible for filing complaints with GoDaddy are also the same individuals who use GoDaddy Hosting Services to launch denial of service attacks and hacking operations against anyone they feel is or could be a threat to the Obama brand. Sinclair News before becoming Sinclair News had the exact same practices used against us where Start-logic was forced to remove us from their hosting servers because attacks had threatened to service of some 8000 Start-logic clients whose web sites were also on hosted on the servers we were.

This effort lodged against Mr. Hagmann is not a new way of doing things in trying to stop those critical of Barack Obama. In fact this practice of threatening the Hosting Companies is one of the most effective means the Obama ‘fight the smears’ organization had in scaring off media from even investigating allegations about Barack Obama during the 2008 election.

These efforts are under taken by individuals who are Attorney’s, Government employees, Law Enforcement employees who use DemocraticUnderground and the DailyKos to organize. Hagmann unfortunately uses GoDaddy the very same Company which has been the registrant and host for BarackObama.com since 2007.

GoDaddy has repeatedly ignored complaints filed with them against web sites registered and hosted by them which have openly admitted and boasted about engaging in hacking of email and web site accounts in 2008, 2009 and 2010.

Mr. Hagmann is not the first and most certainly will not be the last web site owner who is told to find another hosting company for their domain, who is openly critical of Barack Obama. Just as the recent reporting on the Brett Kimberlin ‘swatting’ and ‘caller ID spoofing’ acts which have led to individuals being held at gun point by police is not new, (but it only became important after it happened to someone in the Conservative media) and it will continue as long as people choose to ignore it because it didn’t happen to them.

Larrd is such a martyr. In his spare time, he uses a tweezers to pick pieces of the True Cross out of his shoulder, then packaging the Holy Relics for sale.

      And oh, yeah—SEND MONEY.

    • Dennis says:

Now that I have taken a quick scan of this Hagmann fella, I suspect I see the problem. He is an extreme right wing nutter with some “racial” issues, especially where American Muslims are concerns (I would also suspect that this is where the complaints were coming from). He also had a domain name of “homelandsecurityus.com”. Again, this might have been another source of problems. But his virulent anti-Muslim attack pieces appear to be, at best, borderline, and may have actually crossed the line of his TOS agreement with GoDaddy.

  13. gilligan25 says:

And I thought the triple double oreo was the Ultimate Cookie (except for my Tollhouse, that is):

  14. Dennis says:

Took a look at the TOS at GoDaddy.com and I think I see Lardo’s buddy’s problem:
“Promotes, encourages or engages in hate speech, hate crime, terrorism, violence against people, animals, or property, or intolerance of or against any protected class;”

The guy’s extreme anti-Muslim statements (especially American Muslims) most likely crosses this line. Maybe he should try using servers from the Aryan Nation. They have a “different” attitude.

    • kstreet607 says:

LardAss is still projecting. How many times has HE contacted hosting companies to get them to TOS out pro-Obama or anti-Sinclair blogs on this side? What a disgusting hypocritical POS.

  15. Meesh says:

    What a crock of shit!

Why on Earth do you call FireDogLake an ‘Obama supporter? You have about zero credibility Mr Sinclair. You lie even when the truth would sound better.

Notice as ASSministrator sounds like the FatAss we love….. NOT!

    🙄

    LSAdministrator 5 minutes ago
Karl, why on Earth to you say FireDogLake is not ‘an Obama supporter?’ Perhaps rather than call Mr. Sinclair names, why don’t you demonstrate where you feel Mr. Sinclair has lied about anything? Show us examples of your claims. And yes, in 2008 election FireDogLake was just as far up Obama’s ass as was/is DailyKos, DemocraticUnderground, Huffington Post, Politico et al.

        • Dennis says:

Not sure if I want to even think about that next part, but the day may come when Ilse expects Fat Boy to “stand” and deliver for the Vaterland…She probably already bought the sexy SS lingerie for the occasion.

    • Dennis says:

I know better than to ask this question but I have to anyway…what does flood insurance have to do with conception. I mean when you’re treading water who has time for romance?

      • gilligan25 says:

I was trying to figure that one out myself….of course, trying to have sex in sewage-contaminated water takes a special kind of person (and quite the gamble on whether the genes will mutate: see Sinclair, Lawrence). Then again, people do tend to get more than a little desparate when the cable and power go out, so maybe that’s the nexus.

      • kstreet607 says:

Absolutely nothing. That’s just politics. Paul knew that there was an urgency to pass the flood insurance bill, and he also knew that the personhood issue was being ignored, so he wanted to “sneak” it in there. (They do that all the time.) However, this time the press got wind of it.

    • gilligan25 says:

It looks like that call from the USSS got to FatBoy, so he’s back to stalking the prez again, megaphone in hand. I wonder if he’s going to mew and cry when his fat toes get stepped on–or he gets hauled away by the USSS.

Of course, someone’s giving him money to do this, and he’s not reporting the “donation” to his welfare worker.

  20. Dennis says:

Oh boy. Fat Ass is back sucking up big time to Rick Scott. Dumb, completely dishonest post about the judge striking down the feds attempt to block the current voter purge in Florida. • Dennis says:

That’s because Chief Justice Roberts is a traitor to the nutter’s cause. I assume that there will soon be calls for his removal. Scalia has probably already started the process.

  24. gilligan25 says:

That wasn’t true, all the other stations (I didn’t tune int o FAUX NEWS) waited to get the actual decision. CNN tried to get ahead of the game as being the first to report it. This is another thing that makes CNN look real bad these past few years.

Hey gang! Sorry I’ve been absent the last couple months. I’ve been experiencing some tough times. I got the initial family problems cleared up and then came down with the flu, it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. Damned thing lasted a month. Just when the flu started to clear up I was hit with a bad, bad MS related fatigue, brought on mostly by our 90 degree weather. I’m getting about one day a week of clear headed thinking and today is one of them. I have been lurking but, most of the time, my fatigue level is so damned high, I don’t have the energy to use the keyboard of the damned lap top. The worst part of the fatigue is the way it messes up my ability to think real clearly, e.g., when I speak with my Spanish language only neighbors, I often times find myself speaking Thai to them.

    • kstreet607 says:

Wow YC…you’ve been through a lot and still going through it. Take good care of yourself. A “hi” from you every once in a while is great until you get better. We miss you.

      • YankeeClipper says:

LOL gilli, I like the term fibro fog….that’s what it’s like, a massive fog of dreariness and inability to even speak. My neighbors are learning to speak Thai. The guy next door has taken to asking, “:are we going to talk in English, Spanglish, Thai or SpanThai today?”

        • gilligan25 says:

I know our buddy is flaring before he does–he’ll be searching for a word and will talk all around it before he looks at us and says, “you know what I mean,” and we do. But we’ve been around him for years and are used to that fibro fog.

Only in America would so many overweight, diabetic people with heart disease be upset that they’re gonna have healthcare. ‪#SCOTUS‬ ‪#Obamacare‬

  33. Dennis says:

Game is on. Over at Jeff Densehead’s site they are now calling it the Socialist Supreme Court. Soon Fat Boy (who needs all the free health care he can exploit) will insist that he had sex with Justice Roberts.

Hi everyone. Doing the happy dance here. I logged into Scotusblog this a.m. at 8:15 a.m. to be sure that I wouldn’t have a problem following them blogging the decision. They are the fastest and most accurate info….and thank God they got it right. For a minute after I saw it was upheld I went over to C-Span and saw a tweet that it was declared unconstitutional but went back to Scotusblog and they set me straight. E-mailed my oldest son to tell him he was off the hook on paying for his health insurance for another year +. He’ll be 25 in October. What I really respect is what the President said about it not being about politics (truly…it has not been popular though I don’t get that) but that it was the right thing to do. IMHO, President Obama will be looked upon in history as having done someting quite remarkable that many Presidents before him tried to do and could not.

(YC…feel better) and LOVE TO ALL…

    • kstreet607 says:

Hi Demo. Good to see you. We’re both doing the “happy dance”. I knew about The Scotus Blog but just started using it today! I love it.

I hate what they did to Eric Holder today. Those congressional GOP are vindictive and seriously a sandwich short of a picnic.

    • gilligan25 says:

      Demo,

We did the same thing–logged onto Scotusblog early. I went back later and they said they had over 3 MILLION hits today. Wow.

But Scotusblog was right and Fox News and CNN were so very wrong. I was checking in on the freepers and they started cheering when they thought ACA was declared unconstitutional–and that quickly turned to rage when they found out that it was, indeed, constitutional.

      • democratista says:

Roberts did a sly thing. He went on about the Commerce Clause, etc and then said….BUT…it’s okay under taxing authority. Unless you waited, you could jump to the wrong conclusion.

        • kstreet607 says:

Demo that’s just how Fox news and CNN got bamboozled. They heard the first part and ASSumed that they got rid of the mandate.

        • gilligan25 says:

As soon as the decision was available, I downloaded it and started to read. To say that the writing was, well, dense, is an understatement. There’s no way anyone human could give the decision a cusory scan to find out what the decision says.

I do know that Scalia’s broccoli was mentioned by Roberts, Ginsberg AND Scalia.

  36. YankeeClipper says:

  37. Dennis says:

    Today at Fat Boy’s World:
    1. Ilse is still in shock from the Supreme Court’s ruling and drifts off to a revamping of the old Cold War anti-communist version of The Little Red Hen (just flips Stalin’s name over to Obama).
    2. Fatso defends Justice Roberts claiming that he is being set up for attacks by the vast Obama conspiracy as a clever ploy to divert attention from the vast conspiracy (or some gibberish like that – actually it doesn’t make much sense but what else is new with Turd Brain).
    3. Meanwhile, Ilse is taking the line of the National Rifle Association that the whole Fast and Furious scandal is really a sneaky ploy by Obama to go after gun restrictions. Gosh, this conspiracy is truly vast and really doesn’t make a lick of sense. That just shows how clever it is…or maybe it means that these nutters are completely around the bend.

    • kstreet607 says:

Dennis, thanks for the briefing. I’m so glad I don’t have to go over there unless it’s Babsolutely necessary.

LardAss defends Justice Roberts while all others of his political ilk trashes him. Could it be that the other trashers are NOT on social security disability and medicaid?

  38. gilligan25 says:

Dennis, does Ilse know that her boy sucks off every entitlement program known in the US (except for WIC), that he’s a welfare queen?

I mean if Ilse truly wanted freedom for Larrd, she’d be encouraging him to get off SSI, get off Medicaid, get off every other entitlement program he leeches off of, and to live his own life (or she can support him totally) without constraint.

    • kstreet607 says:

hey Gilligan…another GMTA moment. I hadn’t gotten to your post (I read from top and go downward) yet I typed something similar in response to Dennis. (Hope you’re feeling well.)

  39. gilligan25 says:

Well, no wonder Romney wants to get off the subject of Obamacare:

    http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/06/romney-my-individual-mandate-was-also-a-tax-increase.php?ref=fpa

Republicans are inadvertently inviting a new comparison between the Affordable Care Act and Mitt Romney’s Massachusetts health care reforms. This time it’s about taxes.

Citing Thursday’s landmark Supreme Court ruling upholding the ACA on taxing power grounds, Republicans are attacking Democrats for having surreptitiously raised taxes.

But if that’s true of Democrats, it’s also true of Romney.

“[W]e established incentives for those who were uninsured to buy insurance,” Romney wrote in a 2009 USA Today op-ed. “Using tax penalties, as we did … encourages ‘free riders’ to take responsibility for themselves rather than pass their medical costs on to others.”

Romney has a long public record of supporting his individual mandate — a record he’d love to bury. But this is a rare example of him boasting that the mandate amounts to the same tax he and other Republicans are now attacking Obama for having adopted in the ACA.

    • YankeeClipper says:

      Good morning to you KStreet!

    • Dennis says:

Normally no problem, Kstreet. Unfortunately, we just got hit yesterday in Ohio with a major wind storm (85 MPH winds etc.) and I am without power (quickly catching up at the library). May be out for the next several days (AEP says 5 to 7 but usually they get through our area a little faster). We had only minor damage at our house (part of a large pine tree and a section of gutter) but wires and poles are down all over the place. Basically, it was like a lightening fast hurricane.

Hope to be back sooner than later.

  46. gilligan25 says:

Good morning all! There was a huge storm in the DC area, with a couple million people without power and temps soaring. It’s hard to believe it’s cooler here on the Gulf coast than it is in St. Louis (okay, not by much, but we’re not cracking 100).

Right now, we’re in heaven–local peaches, blueberries, canteloupe and watermelon are coming in and are oh, so good (we bought some of each at the farmer’s market this morning). I’m making peach freezer jam either later today or tomorrow morning. I’m so domestic I could scream 🙂

As far as turdface goes, I wonder how he feels about Gov. Rick Scott not participating in the federal health care system. IIRC, even for mental patients, if the person is single with no dependents (that’d be Fatso), that person will be cut from Medicaid. It’s okay, though, because we just know Ilse will pay for all of Larrd’s health care needs out of her own pocket. Lucky her.

    • kstreet607 says:

You ARE quite domestic Gilligan. I wouldn’t know how to make anything like jam or preserves except to get the jars at Walmart. (I see them all the time and was considering removing caps and using the jars for beverages.) Something we used to do with medium size mayonnaise jars back when I was about 10. LOL

      • gilligan25 says:

LOL! Those jars have never gone out of fashion 🙂

I just blanch, peel and chop up the peaches, mix the sugar (in my case Splenda) and pectin together with the peaches and stir for five minutes. That’s it. I barely break a sweat. The only challenge is getting to the jam before my hubby does.

  47. gilligan25 says:

OMG. Larrd is on his way to some little town in Pennsylvania for Freedompalooza and will be one of the collection of wingnut speakers. I doubt if FatBoy is going to be one of the campers.

      • YankeeClipper says:

Oh! Oh! Look who the featured speaker will be at Freedompalooza! Lardy will be in good company!

James Anthony Traficant, Jr. (born May 8, 1941) was a Democratic politician and member of the United States House of Representatives from Ohio. He represented the 17th Congressional District, which centered on his hometown of Youngstown and included parts of three counties in northeast Ohio’s Mahoning Valley. He was expelled after being convicted of taking bribes, filing false tax returns, racketeering, and forcing his aides to perform chores at his farm in Ohio and on his houseboat in Washington, D.C..[1] He was sentenced to prison and was released from prison on September 2, 2009, after serving a seven-year sentence.

Yankee, while I listened to the talking heads yesterday, all the GOPers referenced the 10th amendment when talking about ACA, waving around the states right banner. • YankeeClipper says:

In light of Speaker Bonehead’s appeal; the next two years may prove as outrageous as the last few have been. Marriage equality will heavily impact the next couple of elections.

      • kstreet607 says:

I agree YC. If Romney gets “voted In” (I KNOW with all the money those fat cats are putting up, they will try their best to steal it!)…there will finally be a people’s uprising over it. Of course most Governors would just send out their Jack booted police forces to quell the demonstrations, but there will be hell to pay if they obviously steal this election like Bush did in 2000 (Fla hanging chads…SCOTUS deciding the election, etc.) and in 2004 – Ohio…where Blackwell did everything he could to make minority votes not count and paper size of documents inaccurate, etc… With times the way they are now, another OBVIOUS stolen election would not look good for our country.

  56. gilligan25 says:

OH! I just heard from a friend of ours in the DC area. He’s got his power back on.

A friend of ours from here said the aftermath of the storms in the DC area looks like the aftermath of hurricane Frederic because of all the downed trees. Frederic (1979) was a category 3 hurricane. The gusts of the DC area storm were measured at 91 mph, which’d make it a category 1 (barely).

    • YankeeClipper says:

That’s good news for DC area residents. I hope things are going as well for Dennis in his area.

    • kstreet607 says:

I’m glad to hear that Gilligan. My daughter lives in Maryland and yet, she wasn’t affected, thank goodness.

      • gilligan25 says:

Your daughter is very lucky. People who live in that area aren’t used to extended power outages and how long it takes for power to be restored. It’s just a nightmare for them.

I remember going to Biloxi in January, 2006, five months after Katrina, and quite a few residential areas still didn’t have power–but the casinos did. Why? Because 1/5th of the state of Mississippi’s income comes from gaming and Mississippi would’ve gone belly-up without that money coming in.

Let’s guess who never served in the military–why that’d be deadbeat Joe Walsh. That frees him to lie about John McCain and insult a double amputee war veteran:

Walsh Slams Duckworth: ‘True Heroes’ Don’t Talk About Their Military Service

    http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/07/walsh-slams-duckworth-true-heroes-dont-talk-about-their-military-service.php?ref=fpnewsfeed

    Eric Kleefeld-July 3, 2012, 12:09 PM582
Republican Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL), knocked his Democratic opponent Tammy Duckworth — a veteran who lost both of her legs as a helicopter pilot in Iraq — for talking about her military career too much. Discussing her accomplishments, Walsh suggested, meant that Duckworth was not a “true [hero].”

Walsh said at a town hall meeting on Sunday that unlike Duckworth, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) rarely spoke about his military service during the 2008 presidential election — a claim that ignores the thrust of McCain’s campaign and his entire political career.

“That’s what’s so noble about our heroes. Now I’m running against a woman who — I mean, my God, that’s all she talks about,” said Walsh, in video posted by Think Progress. “Our true heroes, it’s the last thing in the world they talk about. Our true heroes, the men and women who served us, it’s the last thing in the world they talk about. That’s why we are so indebted and in awe of what they have done.”

The Walsh and Duckworth campaigns did not immediately return requests for comment.

Walsh, a tea party favorite, is facing a more heavily Democratic district thanks to redistricting.

Duckworth served in the National Guard, flying combat missions in Iraq until her helicopter was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade in 2004, resulting in the amputation of both her legs. She lost a bid for Congress in 2006, and was appointed as the state Veterans Affairs director, then assistant Veterans Affairs secretary under President Obama.

  59. Dennis says:

Just passing through via the library’s wifi system (along with half of this area of the city). Power is still largely out in Central Ohio though FEMA has now stepped in (which means less than nothing appears to be happening) and the Ohio National Guards has been sent out (at least the roughly 100 who are not somewhere in the Mideast). So it has been 4 days and nights of 90 plus temps with no lights or AC. We are now breaking the record set by Hurricane Ike when it (ironically) PASSED THROUGH THE STATE. What this crud about there being no such thing as Global Warming?

Doing a quick catch up on news. What? Anderson Cooper is gay?? I thought everybody knew that already. He wasn’t exactly hiding it. CNN got it wrong????? You got to be kidding me.

Make sure you keep yourself hydrated and find a cool spot if you can.

And oh, do I remember Ike. We caught the tail end of him–and I was stuck on the boat alone because of the storm surge/flooding prevented my hubby from getting to our boat. It wasn’t any fun.

Birther Lawsuit From Michael Voeltz Thrown Out In Florida

Another day, another failure for birthers challenging the authenticity of President Barack Obama’s birth certificate.

Monday’s episode took place in Florida, where Leon County Circuit Judge Terry Lewis tossed out a lawsuit by car salesman and self-proclaimed Democrat Michael Voeltz.

Voeltz was represented by conservative activist Larry Klayman, who opted to take the boilerplate birther approach: Argue that Obama wasn’t actually born in Hawaii, despite the White House’s release of a long-form birth certificate that indicates Honolulu as his birthplace. Klayman also came prepared with a backup claim, alleging that Obama isn’t fit to sit in the White House as a “natural born citizen” because his Kenyan-born father wasn’t a U.S. citizen. This interpretation of the Constitution has been debunked on a number of occasions.

  71. Dennis says:

Late last night the power in my area came back on and since no one had time to check for all of the loose wires, various trees caught fire. It was all kind of surreal. So I finally got back here to discover that the decreasing lack of folks posting means we may be out by at least the election. Oh, let’s at least until the election. I blame Fat Boy. He has become very uninteresting, what with his stupid pseudo news reporting and crap like that. Oh well.

As for Joe Walsh, McCain didn’t run on his navy record????? I thought that his half-baked “war” record was all he has…you know, the one where being a POW is somehow a great honor (I have never met a POW who felt that way) and why don’t we over look the fact that he did more propaganda stuff for the North Vietnamese than even Jane Fonda (which is a fact).

Of course here in Ohio we have a young Replug named Josh Mandel whose whole campaign against Sherrod Brown has been based on his war record in the Mideast. Not sure what he really did over there since he keeps showing ads composed on footage from World War Two films (I am not making this up). But by God, he fought all the way to Hitler’s bunker, or something like that. Odd, I think he is in his early thirties.

    • gilligan25 says:

      Dennis,

What a relief to know your power is back on. The recovery from this will take quite some time, but your area will recover. I saw that it should be cooler this weekend, so there’s that.

I do hope we stick around to the election. We know the racist, anti-semitic Holocaust denier Sinklair can’t help himself–he’ll stalk Obama, but not do enough to get himself arrested/tossed in the looney bin. And as far as his website goes, he usually posts each article twice, padding out the content, and posting press releases from his bff, Rick Scott. I do wonder if Connie Mack ever returned his calls?

And McCain didn’t talk about his war record during the 2008 campaign (and every other campaign and damn near every other chance he has)? Hell, he wrote at least one book about it. What I’d like to see happen to Walsh is that disabled veterans start following him around, sit in the crowd and if he talks about veterans being heros, shout out YOU LIE.

And why in hell would Mandel be running WWII footage in his commercials? Is he a time traveler?

Obama Censors the Declaration of Independence
    July 4, 2012
    By Lawrence Sinclair 🙄

Who does President Barack Obama think he is that he can change the wording of the Declaration of Independence? Again and again he presumes to quote the great Declaration while making a significant change: he omits the word “Creator.”

Americans know that the Declaration of Independence proclaims as a matter of fact that they “are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights.” But when Obama recites this line, he omits the word “Creator.”

Listen carefully to how Obama censors that famous line. Here are his own words: “all men are created equal, that each of us are endowed with certain inalienable rights.” He doesn’t say who endowed us.

Obama has done this so often that it can’t be a slip of the tongue or a glitch of the teleprompter. Changing the words of the Declaration of Independence is part of Obama’s determination to remove everything religious and every mention of God from every aspect of our public life in order to fundamentally transform us from “one nation under God” into one nation under the Federal Government, especially the executive branch, with no higher power recognized.

On this Fourth of July, we should remind ourselves that the great Declaration of Independence is not only the proclamation of our independence and sovereignty, but is also the official affirmation of our belief and faith in God. The Declaration asserts God’s existence as a “self-evident” truth, and states that the purpose of government is to secure our God-given unalienable individual rights.

The Declaration contains five references to God — God as our Creator, God as supreme Lawmaker, God as the Source of all rights, God as the world’s supreme Judge, and God as our Protector.

Shortly before we started hearing fireworks for this year’s Fourth of July, the movie “For Greater Glory” opened in local theaters. It is a compelling dramatization of the Mexican government’s persecution of Christians from 1926 to 1929, a bloody piece of history that has hitherto been ignored by historians and filmmakers.

This wasn’t in some faraway Muslim country; it was in our next-door neighbor. It’s instructive for Americans, who have peacefully enjoyed religious liberty for more than two centuries, to realize the depth of hatred that some people have for religion in general and Christianity in particular.

The movie is a worthy addition to the genre of successful religious films that portray Christian heroes who died for their faith, such as “A Man For All Seasons” (Thomas More), “Becket,” and “The Robe.”

So LardButt takes an article by Phyllis Schlafly, sticks his byline on the piece, posts the whole article (under his byline) and then provides an unaccredited link at the end? Basically, this is plagiarism. If I’m not mistaken, it is at least the second or third time recently that he has tried to pull this stunt. I have no doubt that there are many more examples. What a turd brain.

      • Meesh says:

        Dennis,

You’re right, I found the article written by Phyllis Schlafly by googling it… all what FatAss did was post her picture. I thought at first why on earth is he posting her picture????? The bottom link goes nowhere except re-directing to his lousy site. FRAUD!

    • gilligan25 says:

Well, Larrd’s a convicted thief, isn’t he? Of course he’s going to steal articles, to plagarize, and slap his name on it. He doesn’t want to pay the fee it’d take to print a syndicated column by Schlafly.

  73. Dennis says:

Since part of what I do professional is blogging (actually paid for it and all) I need to add that LardBrain is committing what is virtually a capital offense in this trade. Of course that is no surprise. But even by the some what loose and dubious standards of the profession (if I dare call it that), he is total scum. BTW, does he realize that many of us who do this for a living routinely run search engine checks to catch people pulling crap stunts like this?

  74. YankeeClipper says:

Fat Ass better start doing research into the history of the Roman Catholic Church’s shenanigans in Mexico before he starts running his mouth (I know, I know Fat Ass doesn’t deal in facts). And here’s just one reason Americans are getting fed up with some organized Christians.

Alabama Pastor Holds ‘Whites Only’ Conference
By Annie-Rose Strasser on Jul 5, 2012 at 9:23 am

All loving Christians are invited to celebrate the word of God at Rev. William Collier’s annual conference — that is, as long and they are white.

Collier’s Alabama town is outraged over the flyer for his pastors’ conference, which specifies “All White Christians Invited.” The town’s mayor is renouncing the Reverend, saying that such hate speech is unwelcome in the town. But Collier defended the flyer this week, saying that he isn’t a racist — just that “the white race is God’s chosen people”:

Any day now Fatso will print a copy of the infamous “The Turner Diaries” with his name as the author. Or maybe “The Report From Iron Mountain.” Heck, that’s the beauty of the internet. You can slap your name on anything. Now excuse me, I got to finish my novel “War and Peace.”

Thank you very much for writing and posting this superbly written, researched, and heartfelt article Mr. Sinclear. It is also important to note that the one God, the Creator, mentioned in the Declaration of Independence is not a God exclusive to Christians. We don’t need to agree on every aspect of our spiritual natures, but if we can agree on one Creator God for all of humankind we have certainly come a long way to alleviating divisions amongst the peoples of the World. Right? I would personally like to suggest that the one Creator God has always had a feminine counterpart, companion, and mate….but this will certainly suffice for now!

Will he correct Darya-tard? this was posted 5 hours ago… and no sign of the FatOne who moderates every single comment.

Does anyone have this video clip with animation recreation of assassination of Judge Rolls. This is important, as other judges might be scared to rule in our favor, as they are threatened.

Judge Rolls was one of the people who were murdered at the same time Gabby Giffords was shot. What a disgusting and vile person she is.

    But then there’s this:

Orly just filed a new suit:

    Breaking news!

New 113 page complaint with exhibits class action filed on behalf of Christian and Jewish US Citizens:Healthcare Obama Tax is illegal as it violates Equal protection clause, Due Process Clause, Establishment clause and Free exercise of religion clause of the US Constitution, as it exempt Muslim citizens and places a heavy tax burden on Christian and Jewish U. S. Citizens to pay a de facto Judeo-Christian Obama Tax not only for themselves, but also for Muslim citizens, who are exempt. Additionally, Plaintiff Attorney Orly Taitz, who is seeking a class action certification, is bringing forward a second challenge to Obama Tax, asserting that it is illegal, as it was signed into law by Barack Obama under false pretenses and by virtue of fraud, usurping the position of the U.S. President while using forged and fraudulently obtained identification papers: forged Selective service Certificate, forged Birth certificate and a fraudulently obtained Social security number. Additional cause of action is RICO, asserting that Obama doe America is a de facto RICO organization created to procure fraud committed by Obama. Additional defendants are Attorney General Holder, Registrar of the Department of health of HI Alvin Onaka, former director of Selective Service William A. Chatfield, Commissioner of Social Security Michael Astrue, former Chair Woman of Democratic National Convention in 2008 Nancy Pelosi, former chairman of the Democratic Party of Hawaii Brian Schatz and a number of other defendants.

While the case was filed in the Southern Division of the Central District of California, it was moved by the clerk of the court to the western Division in Los Angeles. When asked, why was the case moved, the clerk stated that it is a violation of civil rights case, which affects the whole district.

Hate to tell Orly, but this is an urban myth. Not only that, Anabaptists (Amish, Mennonites) have asked for waivers, most definitely Christians.

“This Country Needs A Good Slap Down” Say What?
    July 5, 2012
    By Lawrence Sinclair

Romney & GOP Might Want To Take Notice

Bryan Siemon, Paul Fest Organizer ©2012 Sinclair News

It should come as no surprise that those in the Liberty movement which have devoted the past four plus years to Texas Congressman Ron Paul, have issues with the presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney. Lets be honest here and acknowledge that Romney still has problems with getting the conservative base of the GOP to get excited about his candidacy. What is surprising however is that Ron Paul supporters are according to Bryan Siemon (Left) (Siemon is the Events Director for Paul Fest set for Aug 24, 25, 26, 2012 at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa) ready to vote for Barack Obama in November so “this country can get the slap down it needs to realize a Paul presidency was the better choice.”

On Sunday July 1, 2012 while attending Freedompalooza 2012 in Kintnersville, PA we 🙄 were speaking about our opinion regarding the competing Libertarian Festivals organizing for the weekend before the RNC Convention starts on Aug 27, 2012. The event organizer Paul Topete told us 🙄 that we 🙄 could address our 🙄 concerns about Paul Fest to the events organizer who just happened to be sitting with Topete at the time. Bryan Siemon and I began discussing the competing efforts of Paul Fest and Freedom Festival 2012 and our opinion that it was all about money. Mr. Siemon was more than willing to give his position on the subject.

According to Siemon, Paul Fest is about honoring Rep. Ron Paul and not about making money. “We were approached by the group who started organizing Freedom Festival 2012 wanting to organize Paul Fest. They wanted a big pay day out of organizing the event so we declined,” says Siemon. “Freedom Festival came about from some in the Paul camp who did not want to wait and get the venue released by the RNC and they have since been banned from the ‘Daily Paul’ and it is our position that Paul Fest which is the event I am organizing will be the only event taking place that weekend, added Siemon.

We 🙄 asked Siemon why their had become so much infighting within the Paul movement and we 🙄 specifically asked him why members of Liberty Unleashed & Grassroots for Liberty had taken to publicly attacking individuals who had been so active in the campaign for liberty. Lets just say that the Liberty Movement like any other political movement clearly has some major ego issues. But its what Siemon told us 🙄 about what the Paul supporters are planning to do that knocked us 🙄 for a loop.

See in speaking with Siemon we 🙄 wanted to know if the Paul supporters were going to use their numbers in November to help remove Barack Obama from office or if there was still the belief that Ron Paul would run as a third party candidate. When we 🙄 mentioned to Siemon Paul himself had stated if he did not get the GOP nomination he would not run as a third party candidate, Siemon responded with “Dr. Paul can’t say he would run as a third party candidate until after the GOP convention has concluded.” Clearly we understand the passion with which the Paul supporters move toward their objective, but what we do not understand is why Ron Paul himself, who has ran and been reelected to office as a Republican his entire career, has not simply come forward and been completely forthright with his supporters on what his plans are? Nor do we understand how Ron Paul can sit back and allow his supporters to say “this country needs a good slap down in order to see that Dr. Paul would have been a better choice, and the person best suited to give America that slap down is Barack Obama.” A statement like that’s begs one to ask; ‘say what?’

Mitt Romney and the GOP have to be aware that if the Paul people decide to vote Obama – “Paul supporters will not vote for Romney, but instead will vote for Obama, Gary Johnson or not at all,” says Siemon – Romney will have very little chance to win in November. The Paul people on the other hand have to realize that a vote for Obama would go against everything the Libertarian Movement stands for, and could only serve to allow the mainstream media and the ‘establishment’ to continue to cast them as ‘the fringe.’ At the same time you have Paul’s own Grandson-in-law & Campaign manager Jesse Benton telling reporters in a May 15, 2012 conference call that Rep. Paul will NOT endorse Libertarian Candidate Gary Johnson while at the same time not closing the door on a Paul endorsement of Mitt Romney. Ron Paul Campaign Throwing In The Towel

Siemon told us 🙄 “A President Paul would go into office on day one and by Executive Order undo all that Obama has done.” This is interesting in that Ron Paul has been an outspoken critic of the use of Executive Orders by the office of the President.

If you are organizing to engage in action meant to secure the GOP’s defeat in November why would you demand that the RNC give you a venue to gather? If it is your plan to punish the establishment because you feel you were disrespected, why ask for a place at the table on the GOP Platform? These are valid questions. When you have someone who is so directly involved in the Paul movement as Bryan Siemon say “This country needs a good slap down,” and follow that up with how you plan to help bring about that “slap down” its fair to ask: Are you really trying advance the limited Government and personal liberty platform, or are you now playing the role of sore loser?

Sinclair News will be the first to admit that the Ron Paul campaign was not really taken seriously by the media or the GOP, but to engage in activities you know will only ensure more economic failure and increase government intrusion in your personal life begs the question: Is that really what Rep. Ron Paul inspired in his supporters? As we have said over and over again, it simply does no one any good if everyone is engaging in the same types of ego trips. Will Rep. Paul endorse and condone anyone playing the “slap down” game as a means of promoting the Paul principles? With Ron Paul choosing to put on his own event in Tampa on August 26, 2012 Ron Paul to hold his own event before Republican National Convention one would have to assume that Rep. Paul is not actively participating in the plans to deny victory to the GOP in the bid for the White House. We noted in the Tampa Bay Times piece Jesse Benton again points out that the Aug 26, 2012 rally have an emphasis on “professionalism…”

That’s because Paul plans to hold a rally of his own on Aug. 26, the day before the convention starts, said Paul campaign deputy national press secretary James Barcia.

Paul campaign chairman Jesse Benton and convention spokesman James Davis said late Monday that the convention and the campaign are working to secure a site for the candidate’s event. The convention is looking at its list of 73 official RNC venues for a location, though Benton said the campaign is not looking at the Florida State Fairgrounds, the planned site for the Paul Festival.

Paul’s event will celebrate the candidate’s accomplishments in the cause of liberty and will set a tone of “professionalism and respect” for Paul’s delegates going into the Aug. 27-30 convention, Benton said. It will be an open event.

According to statements by the Paul campaign, Rep. Paul will not be attending/speaking at either the planned Paul Fest or Freedom Festival 2012 events being promoted for the weekend of Aug 24-26, 2012.

Ron Paul’s presidential campaign said Monday that the libertarian candidate will not be attending Paul Festival 2012, a three-day event being organized in his honor by some of his supporters just before the Republican National Convention.

Sinclair News finds the statements made by Bryan Siemon to be news worthy in that they state a specific planned strategy by an organization which has been involved in the Paul movement for a long period of time. Whether the RNC, GOP or the mainstream media want to acknowledge the size and influence of the Paul supporters is up to them, but to dismiss them will most certainly spell defeat for the GOP on November 6, 2012 to Barack Obama if someone does not step up now.

Its time for Texas Rep. Ron Paul (Republican) to step up to the plate, because whether you choose to admit it or not, Dr. Ron Paul has ran and been elected to every single term he has spent in the United States House of Representatives as a Republican: not a Libertarian; not a Democrat; not an Independent; but as a Republican.

Surely Rep. Paul would not want to retire from his long career with the “This Country needs a good slap down,” strategy as the one thing he is remembered for. Nor do we believe the Romney campaign and GOP want to be remembered as the candidate and party that was defeated by historic numbers to Barack Obama.

While it is true something needs to motivate us as a Nation, but Sinclair News cannot allow ourselves to even think that a deliberate effort to bring about devastating events to make a political point is the answer, or even imaginable.

LOl brain bleach? Sorry about that….when I read that part of him sleeping inside the tent “on top” of sleeping bag…. GASP!

After sleeping in a tent on top of a sleeping bag (at 2 am it was still to warm and humid to sleep inside that damn sleeping bag)

A sweaty fat pig… I shuddered, remember when he talked about the fake suicide with tic tacs, he said the police was grossed out? Or thought he was a psycho, when he discovered him sleeping in the nude. I keep thinking back when he said he always sleeps in the nude. Stupid ass failed to get it, somebody doesn’t attempt to commit suicide strip down and get into bed.

The author of the above article is Mrs. Phyllis Schlafly, Sinclair News simply added it to our distribution because we felt it was news worthy.

And guess what? The link (that went nowhere yesterday) at the bottom of that stolen piece, now goes to the original article…The pathetic slime-ball must have been sniffing around here again, I thought I smelled something vile.
BTW *idiot* NEWSWORTHY is one word!

As I recall, the typical Lovecraft story is composed of the first person ravings of a narrator who may be going insane while confronting vague demonic forces that may or may not be real or merely a product of their own crumbling mental state. Or maybe Fatso is simply stealing stuff from the pulps.

Finally got to read LardBrain’s account of his trip to Freedompalooza (odd, the writing is pretty crappy as opposed to his more recent “articles”). What do we learn? For a guy who is in such horrible physical condition, he gets around pretty well. Went to Washington and scooped a (free) meal from friends. Drove to PA where he discovered that he doesn’t know how to change a stupid tire. Got to campsite and got someone to put up his tent (because its soooo hard). Presumably got another free meal. Stripped and jumped on top of sleeping bag (squealing like a pig all night long). Woke after 9am (must have been a large bottle that needed putting away that night). Wasn’t sure if he wanted to tell his bullshit story (means he was trying to get folks to buy a copy of his stupid book – the weight of all of those copies is probably what blew the tire). Chat it up with a nut job of a right wing Urban Funk artiste (white guy with ethnic “issues”). Find free meal.

No reports beyond this narcissistic line of bs. No point or focus. Lots of meaningless references to his own self. Just send money.
